Hasselback Potatoes & Roasted Chicken Thighs

I'd been dying to try the Accordion, Pillbug, Hasselback [pick your favourite name] potatoes a long time ago and yesterday was the day. I sually have roasts twice a week to say the least, they're my kind of favourite indulgence all year round and if it involves chicken, even better! The hasselback [tank the Swedes] is actually a single potato, sliced into thin wedges but left joined at the bottom, baked until the layers fan out into rounds of crispy bliss, that reunites all my potato heaven dreams -  the crispy edges of my beloved french fries, but with middles as creamy as mashed potatoes. I thought they were hard to make but it's actually quite simple, take little time and lkittle effort and they do look amazing and exquisite. As for the accompaniement I opted for my no-fail roasted chicken thighs [you can find the recipe here] and it the nicest dinner on a cold walking-at-snail's-pace-towards-spring night. 


Ingredients:

  • 6 potatoes
  • olive oil
  • qs salt
  • butter
Preheat oven to 250 ° C. While the oven is heating up, start preparing the potatoes. Place a wooden spoon under the properly washed potatoes, but with the peel on. With a sharp knife cut thin slices, vertical from one side to the other, take care not to cut all the way. Season with coarse salt to taste, drizzle with olive oil and place pieces of butter on top of each potato. Place in a preheated oven for about 45m. Remove from oven. Enjoy it!


Ingredients:
  • 6 batatas
  • azeite
  • sal q.b.
  • manteiga
Pré-aqueça o forno a 250 ˚C. Enquanto forno está a aquecer, comece a preparar as batatas.Coloque uma colher de pau por debaixo da batata devidamente lavada, mas com a casa. Com uma faca afiada corte fatias finas, verticais de um lado para o outro, tome cuidado para não cortar todo o caminho. Tempere com sal grosso a gosto, regue com azeite e coloque pedaços de manteiga por cima de cada batata. Coloque no forno pré-aquecido cerca de 45m. Retire do forno. Bom proveito!

  1. Adoro hasselback potatoes!!! Até tenho um post pré preparado com uma receita para meter ao blog, a ver se para a semana consigo. Mas até aprender a fazer os cortes como deve de ser, foi cá uma luta!!! Agora não quero outra coisa eheheheh.
