I confess that baking cakes has already been a true sacrifice to me! I've always preferred to cook "realk food" [as I used to call it] dishes instead, that implicated complex, dense, savory, caloric and invariably spicy sauces. Probably, then, I wasn't the sweet tooth that I became nowadays; as a matter of fact, I believe that for years I just ate because I needed to, without actually savoring anything in special - well, maybe just one or another titbit, that I felt like then, but certainly a salty one! I found the process of baking a cake boring, slow, meticulous, laborious [and that of embelishing it even worse] - may I was too much distracted with things that I shouldn't have given so much credit! It was not until I realized that, for everything in life, it is necessary to give attention, dedication, endeavor, love so that the result overcomes our own's expectations, as well as when I realized that boldness, determination and passion makes our criativity move and leads us to acvhieve all the goals we set. This was the cake that I baked to celebrate St. Valentine´s Day. This was my vision of love!
Chocolate cake [former recipe - on the blog]
Red Velvet Cake
Ingredients:

- 2 strawberry flavour jellies

altura me aprouvesse, mas certamente salgada!

- corante alimentar vermelho

Numa tigela misturas a farinha e o
fermento.
Mistura bem e
junta o iogurte, as gelatinas e o corante. Coloca a massa na
forma untada e ligeiramente polvilhada com farinha.Vai a cozer cerca de
35 m em forno pré-aquecido.

This cake looks so delicious! I was the same when I was younger, I didn't really enjoy food, just ate because I had to. Not until I met my boyfriend! His family taught me to eat great food and enjoy the taste of it. Now I love to cook, make salads and try new things. I haven't gotten into making cakes but that's on my list!
