Coco[nuts] for Carnival

The confectioner of the  house has always been my elder sister, Adelaide. She used to bake delicious cakes and puddings, sometimes without impressive embelishments, but that were always absolutely divine in what  taste was concerned. They always had that home-made look of food made with time, dedication and lightness and the smoothness on the palate result of those who appreciate what they are doing. I used to look up to my sister Adelaide as the example to be followed in her culinary skills, but I admit it took me a long way to get there. As I had an unexpected family reunion lunch and it was Carnival [that to me has somehow lost its magic, but that I used to love when I was younger for the opportunity of disguising myself and putting make up on] I picked one of the infallible recipes of my sister and gave it my personal stamp, adapting it to the Carnival theme festivities and to the invitation of the joy of the appeal to sociability and I garantee you it disappeared in the blink of an eye! It's Carnival - no one will blame you! ;)

Ingredients:
  • 1 tea cup flour
  • 1 soup spoon yeast
  • 4 eggs room temperature
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 can of milk
  • 125 gr grated coconut
Pre-heat the oven 190ºC/ 4 gas

In a bowl mix everything together for about 5m. Put the dough in a cake mould lightly greased with butter and sprinkled with flour. Put it in the oven for about 35 minutes.

Cover:
  • sour cream
  • 4 soup spoons of sugar
  • food colouring
  • grated coconut

É Carnaval - ninguém leva a mal!

Ingredientes:
  • 1 chávena de chá de farinha
  • 1 colher se sopa de fermento
  • 4 ovos temperatura ambiente

Cobertura:
  • natas para montar
  • 4 colheres de soupa de açúcar
  • corantes alimentares
  • côco ralado
