Guests' Room

When having houseguests it is very important to make the bedroom  comfortable, restful and as inviting as if they were in a fine hotel, so that they feel specially welcomed. So here are some of the tips I usually use and that make me feel the "hostess with the mostest":

• provide them with a comfortable matress, 
• clean bedding, a choice of pillows, 
• extra blankets and freshly ironed pillows [it must be terrible to sleep in worn or wrinkled ones!], 
• clear the space so that they can place luggage properly, 
• keep the space uncluttered, arranged and scented,
• purchase an inexpensive over-the-door hook that can accommodate some hanging clothes,
•  provide a good reading light on the bedside table or over the bed,
•  place wrapped snacks, fresh fruit or cookies and a bottle of water in the guest room,
• place some magazines, a Tv set, a CD player or even a DVD player in the bedroom for entertainment at night,
• and, most importantly, although they are staying at your place, give them privacy! 

  

Ao ter hóspedes em casa é muito importante  fazer o quarto confortável, tranquioa e tão convidativo como se estivessem num bom hotel, de modo que eles se sintam especialmente bem-vindos. Assim, aqui estão algumas  dicas que eu costumo usar e que me fazem sentir a "a melhor das anfitriãs":

• providenciar um colchão confortável,
• roupa de cama limpa, uma seleção de almofadas,
• cobertores e travesseiros acabados de passar a ferro [ deve ser terrível  dormir nuns que foram usados ​​ou engelhados!]
• limpar o espaço de modo que possam arrumar a bagagem convenientemente, 
•  manter o espaço organizado, arranjado e perfumado,
•  comprar um cabide económico de pendurar atrás da porta, que pode acomodar algumas roupas penduradas,
•  fornecer uma  boa luz de leitura em cima a mesa de cabeceira ou sobre a cama,
•  colocar snacks embalados, frutas ou biscoitos e uma garrafa de água no quarto de hóspedes 
•  colocar algumas revistas, uma televisão, um leitor de CDs ou mesmo um leitor de DVDs  no quarto para entretenimento à noite,
• e, mais importante, apesar de  eles estarem em sua casa, dar-lhes privacidade!
