Summer Citrusade

The month of August promised to be hot and it not failed its promise, actually, it came sizzling! Without great desiring of turning the oven on and seeing the kitchen being transformed into a sauna, nothing feels better to fight torrid heat than an icy citrus drink , with all the colors that call for this summery season and with the sharp taste of the most various acidic fruits and a tasty touch of mint ! Get cool! 

Ingredients:

•  lemons
•  oranges
•  grapefruits
•  files
•  mint
•  ice
• 4 tablespoons sugar

Fruits are washed and squeezed, one by one (I have used 3 of each). Then, the juice is poured into a pitcher, and the rest is cut into slices and  added. Add sugar, the mint leaves, and finally the ice, stirring at the end.

O mês de agosto prometia ser quente e não falhou a sua promessa, aliás, veio escaldante! Sem grande vontade para ligar o forno e sentir a cozinha ser transformada em sauna, nada sabe melhor para combater o calor tórrido do que um refresco de citrinos bem gelado, com todas as cores que apelam a esta estação veraneia e com o gosto tão acentuado das mais variadas frutas ácidas e um toque saboroso de hortelã! Refresquem-se!

Ingredientes:

• limões
• laranjas
• toranjas
• limas
• hortelã
• gelo
• 4 colheres açúcar

Lavam-se as frutas e espremem-se, uma a uma (usei 3 de cada). Depois, verte-se o sumo para dentro de um jarro, cortam-se as restantes em rodelas e adicionam-se. Junta-se o açúcar, as folhas de hortelã e, finalmente,o gelo, mexendo-se no final.
