I know that it sounds terrible to say, especially with such good quality wines being produced in Portugal, but this is the only way I drink red wine - in sangria! I also know at least half a dozen different ways to make sangria, but this is the one that always works out perfectly and that everyone loves. Ideal for a long summer evening spent amongst friends, playing board games and in a talking shop!
Ingredients:
- 250 ml red wine
- 250 ml Seven Up
- 250 ml carbonated orange juice (I used Sumol)
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 orange
- 1 grapefruit
- 1 lemon
- 2 limes
- 1 apple
- mint leaves
Pour the wine, the orange juice and the Seven up into a large jug . Mix everything very well. Wash the fruit and cut it into pieces. Add it to the liquid ingredients and then add two cinnamon sticks and mint leaves to flavor the drink. Cover and let steep in the refrigerator for two hours before serving in high glasses. Put lots of ice cubes.
Ingredientes:
- 250 ml vinho tinto
- 250 ml Seven Up
- 250 ml sumo de laranja gaseificado (usei Sumol)
- 2 paus de canela
- 1 laranja
- 1 toranja
- 1 limão
- 2 limas
- 1 maçã
- folhas de hortelã
Deite num jarro grande o vinho, a Seven up e a laranjada.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds fabulous. In Mexico, my friends made me a sangria that was 1/3 red wine, 1/3 vodka, and 1/3 agua limon. Also very good, but not as elegant (or tasty!) as your recipe.
ReplyDeleteI love sangria - I'm hoping to have some later today when I'm out! They don't sell sumol over here but I always have it when I go to Portugal :) xxx
