Often the simplest cakes that give me less work to prepare are those that are the most delicious and absolutely irresistible. Did this ever happened to you? When my aunt and my mother get together a simple homemade cake is always mandatory, now baked by me, for an afternoon of tea mixed with a lot of talk and share of memories of bygone times that both touch us, as they make us laugh to tears! There is no more beautiful book, nor deeper stories or wiser words than those that come out of my mother's mouth!
Ingredients:
- 2 mugs flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 mug sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup sunflower oil
- juice and zest of 2 oranges
- juice and zest of 1 lemon
- powdered sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling (optional)
Separately beat the egg yolks with the sugar and oil to form a sort of foam. Hitting aside, the 6 egg whites with 4 tablespoons of sugar and set aside. Add the dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside. Add the pasta to the dry ingredients and beat, adding the juice and zest of oranges and lemon. Finally, wrap the egg whites in the previous mixture and wrap well with a spatula. Bake in the oven preheated to 180 ª 40 minutes. Do the toothpick test. In the end I sprinkled the cake with powedered sugar and cinammon.
I love this! There's nothing like a cuppa, piece of cake and great company.
