The Festival Of Popular Saints
The Festival of Popular Saints - St. Anthony, St. John and St. Peter -are the main reason for which the so sadly degradedcity of Coimbra downtown dresses in colour, celebration and joy. The small alleys dress up in ribbons, small pots of basils and paper flowers and acquire a new liveliness that suits it so perfectly. At the end of the day, in the small restaurants that abound at any corner one feels the the smell of fresh grilled sardines and peppers , that entice to the consumption of great red wine and tastyolives. Coimbra goes out to the streets, and so seems, beyond borders! Congratulations Coimbra!

ReplyDeleteRule #1: There's nothing a party can't fix.
