Amazing Master Bathrooms

Before I even started building my house I already kept frantically all magazine clippings with dream bathrooms - it was how I used to call  them. These images that I leave here are some that have inspired me and I hope that they'll be useful to you as well. The design of the master bathroom of my house was the one that gave me most pleasure and, incontestably, the one in which I invested mostly - both in effort, and in money [within the budget I had available to it). Since ever the bathroom is for me the most important room of the house, perhaps the one to which I feel more connected, considering the amount of  time of our lives that we spend there. Everything was thought to detail, nothing was left to chance, each piece was chosen with care and in a harmonious whole. It is not  ready yet, but I feel that when I go there all the elements have a clean, contemporary, graceful and utterly timeless look, cemented by a sophisticated color scheme tone-on-tone of cream and ivory. It may still not be exactly what I've dreamed with, but it has become a much better reality  than I could  have ever imagined!

Antes de começar sequer a construir a minha casa já eu guardava freneticamente todos os recortes de revistas com casa de banho de sonho - era assim que eu as chamava. Estas imagens que aqui vos deixo são algumas das que me serviram de inspiração e que eu espero que vos sejam úteis.
O projeto da casa de banho principal da minha casa foi aquele que me deu mais prazer e, indiscutivelmente, aquele em que mais investi - tanto em esforço, quanto em dinheiro [dentro do orçamento de que dispunha). Desde sempre que a casa de banho é para mim a divisão mais importante da casa, talvez aquela a que eu ligue mais, considerando o tempo das nossas vidas que lá passamos. Tudo foi pensado ao pormenor, nada foi deixado ao acaso, cada peça foi escolhida com carinho e num todo harmonioso. Ainda não está tudo pronto, mas sinto que quando lá entro todos os elementos têm um ar clean, contemporâneo, gracioso e absolutamente intemporal, cimentado por um esquema de cores sofisticado tom-sobre-tom de creme e marfim. Pode ainda não ser exatamente aquilo com que sonhei, mas tornou-se uma realidade bem melhor do que alguma vez poderia imaginar!

The good thing about summer are the endless long afternooons, the hot days, the refreshments with loads of ice, al fresco dinners with friends, uncommitted vacations, the grilled sardines and horse mackerels in the backyard, picnics in the countryside, the relatives who come from afar to ultra joyful family reunions, clothing that dries in an instant,  light  and cool dresses and skirts, colorful accessories, straw hats  super feminine and cute, walks by the seaside, the immense diversity of the fruits of the season and the contagious joy of being happy with all these little things! I'm in the mood for ...

O bom do verão são as tardes longas sem fim, os dias quentes, os refrescos com imenso gelo, as jantaradas al fresco com os amigos, as férias descomprometidas, as sardinhadas no quintal, os piqueniques  no campo, os parentes que vêm de longe para reuniões familiares animadíssimas, a roupa que seca num instante, os vestidos e saias leves e frescos, os acessórios coloridos, os chapéus de palha super femininos e giros, os passeios à beira-mar, a diversidade imensa dos frutos da época e a alegria contagiante de ser feliz com todas estas pequeninas coisas! Apetece-me...

In The Mood For

Those who think that the holidays are synonymous with dolce fare niente, relaxation or peace of mind think again - at least here at home! The card box piles are almost reaching the ceiling, the rooms are full length and breadth of stuff, we have not done anything except cleaning tiles, cabinets, floors, windows and I am truly shocked at the amount of stuff that has fit this small house for all these years. All this also contribites to reshape livelihoods, investments and learn to be more selective andprudent. After all, it is from past mistakes that we learn at least not to repeat the same ones in the future! I´m in the mood for...

Desengane-se quem pensa que as férias são sinónimo de dolce fare niente, descontração ou paz de espírito - pelo menos aqui por casa! Os caixotes acumulam-se até ao teto, as divisões estão cheias de lés a lés, não temos feito mais nada a não ser limpezas de mosaicos, armários, azulejos, chão, janelas e estou verdadeiramente em choque com a quantidade de tralha que coube nesta casa pequena durante todos estes anos. Tudo isto também serviu para reformular modos de vida, investimentos e aprender a ser mais seletiva e ponderada. Afinal, é com os erros passados que devemos aprender, pelo menos a não repetir os mesmos no futuro! Apetece-me...
