Filhoses - Childhood Memories #5


They were the favorite cakes of my childhood and adolescence , those that would be awaiting me as soosn as got home from school or highschool , those that my  mother would lovingly and patiently cook during Fall , those that would fill  both my eyes and my belly and that I preferred eating when they were already cool , greedily , one after another, without offering resistance. They have the taste of the times gone by, have an endless sweetness and, from time to time , they cherish a bit the homesickness of seeing my mother healthy cooking them especially for me ! 

Ingredients:
  •  500g flour with yeast
  •  1 1/2 Cold water
  •  5 tablespoons of sugar
  •  1 pinch of salt
  •  5 eggs
  •  sunflower oil
  •  sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling

Place the flour with yeast in a bowl and add  water and sugar . Stir well with a fork . Add the eggs and a pinch of salt . Stir well with a fork until you get a homogeneous consistency . Then in hot oil , fry spoonfuls of dough and turn them over so that they fry evenly. When are slightly golden ,  remove the "filhoses" , drain them well on paper towels and sprinkle them with sugar and cinnamon .





Eram os bolos preferidos da minha infância e adolescência, aqueles que estavam à minha espera nas tardes chuvosas quando saía da escola ou do liceu, aqueles que a minha mãe carinhosa e pacientemente cozinhava durante o outono, que enchiam tanto os olhos quanto a barriga e que eu preferia comer já arrefecidos, gulosamente, um após outro, sem oferecer resistência. Sabem a tempos idos, têm uma doçura infinda e, de vez em quando, acalentam um pouco a saudade de ver a minha mãe com saúde a cozinhá-los especialmente para mim!

Ingredientes:
  • 500gr farinha de trigo com fermento
  •  1 1/2 água fria
  • 5 colheres de sopa de açúcar
  • 1 pitada de sal
  • 5 ovos
  • óleo de girassol
  • açúcar e canela para polvilhar
Coloque a farinha com fermento numa tigela e junte a água e o açúcar. Mexa bem com um garfo. Junte os ovos e  a pitada de sal. Mexa bem com o garfo até obter uma consistência homogénea. Em óleo bem quente, frite então colheradas de massa e vá virando para as filhoses fritarem por igual. Quando estiverem douradinhas, retire as filhoses, escorra-as muito bem em papel absorvente e polvilhe-as com açúcar e canela.
