A week with many highlights went by in a blink of an eye - the prom could not have gone better, it was fun from the preparation time to the closing party, I finally got the first part of a belated birthday present, but a much desired one [a trio of coffee table books thatI  will show you soon - the most desired only comes out in August, though]; Saturday awaits me in the first wedding on the beach which I will attend - that of my dear Rita, [I mean to prepare a post about the clothes and make up] and I've discovered a new ice cream, non- fat natural yoghurt - and I'm a person that couldn't care less about yoghurt - which is really irresistable and that I would love to learn how to make it at home with just that amazing taste. I'm in the mood for...

Uma semana com pontos altos passou num instantinho - o baile de finalistas não poderia ter corrido melhor, foi diversão desde a preparação até ao fechar das portas; recebi a primeira parte de um presente de aniversário tardio, mas muito desejado [um trio de coffee table books que vos mostrarei em breve - o mais desejado só sai em Agosto]; no sábado aguarda-me o primeiro casamento na praia ao qual vou assitir - o da minha querida Rita, [prepararei um post sobre a indumentária e make] e descobri uns gelados novos, de iogurte natural feitos com leite magro - eu que até não ligo nada a iogurtes - que são mesmo irresistíveis e que eu adorava aprender a fazer em casa com o mesmo fantástico sabor. Apetece-me...

Too Good Not To Post It Right Away

Strawberry Tart

 Now when  four ingredients that I love get together - ice cream, lemon, crackers and strawberries - that can only have good results! Lately I've been in a kind of  pie baking frenzy. I think I've already baked one of each thing that I could remember of and the most amazing thing is that one just has to change one or another ingredient and it is totally different in what concerns its taste. This one is truly delicious, refreshing, not that rich, and a great suggestion for a Saturday afternoon, when, for example, one finishes off one after another the episodes of the second series Game of Thrones! ;)

 Ingredients:

• juice of 2 lemons
• 1 can sweetened condensed milk
• 1 package and a half of sugary  of crackers 
• 3 tbsp (tablespoons) sugar
• 250 g butter, melted
• 5 eggs
• lemon zest
• fresh strawberries 

 

Preheated oven at 180ºC.

Chop the crackers, add the melted butter, knead with your hands, cover with the mixture the tart pan, and poke the bottom with a fork.In a bowl, pour the condensed milk, the lemon juice, 1 egg and 4 egg yolks, stirring well until the mixture is smooth. Put it into the tart pan and take it to the oven for 30 minutes or until cooked and golden. Remove from the oven and let cool. Chop the strawberries and display them om top of the tart. Reserve in refrigerator until serving time.

Ora quando se juntam quatro ingredientes que eu adoro - gelado, limão, bolachas e morangos -  isto só poder ter bom resultado! Ultimamente tenho andado com a mania das tartes. Acho que já fiz uma de cada coisa que me lembro e o mais incrível é que basta mudar-se um ou outro ingrediente que fica logo totalmente diferente em termos de sabor. Esta é deveras deliciosa, refrescante, nada enjoativa e uma ótima sugestão para um sábado à tarde, quando, por exemplo, se dá conta de enfiada da segunda série do Game of Thrones! ;)

Ingredientes:

• sumo de 2 limões
• 1 lata de leite condensado
• 1 pacote e meio de bolacha Maria
• 3 colheres (sopa) de açúcar
• 250 gr manteiga derretida
• 6 ovos
• raspa de limão 
• morangos frescos

Forno pré aquecido a 180ºC.

Pica as bolachas, derrete a manteiga , amassa com as mãos,  forra com a mistura uma tarteira, e  pica o fundo com um garfo.

Numa tigela, deita o leite condensado, o sumo de limão, 1 ovo e 5 gemas, mexendo bem até obter um creme homogéneo. Deita o preparado na tarteira e leva ao forno durante 30 minutos ou até que fique cozida e dourada. Retira do forno e deixa arrefecer.Corta os morangos (laminados) e dispõe-os em cima da tarte. Reserva no frigorífico até à hora de servir.

Missing Odeceixe

This was the scenario with which I came across a few years ago and which has charmed me completely and irreversibly. It became not only  an obligatory destination , but above all, a place of sojourn year after year since then. On one side the sea [​​with a big swell, great for surfers and bodyboarders] on another side the river [where tranquility reigns, the scent of cistus, cold water]. From the top of the stone stairs one can enjoy the sunset and the beautiful, mystical, peaceful surrounding landscape. We leave with a golden, beautiful, long lasting tan. Here one breathes fresh air, rests body and soul, and forgets about the hustle and bustle of the city. To you I shall return whenever I can, with the same feeling of having come home!

Este foi o cenário com o qual me deparei há uns bons anos atrás e que me enfeitiçou completa e irreversivelmente. Passou a ser um destino não só de passagem obrigatória, mas, sobretudo, de permanência, ano após ano, desde então. De um lado o mar[com uma grande ondulação, ótima para os praticantes de surf e bodyboard] do outro o rio [onde reina a tranquilidade, o perfume a estevas, a água fria, muito batida].  Do topo das escadas em pedra aprecia-se o pôr do Sol e a bela paisagem envolvente, mística, pacífica. Daqui leva-se um bronzeado dourado, bonito, duradouro. Aqui respira-se ar puro, descansa-se o corpo e a alma e esquece-se o bulício da cidade. A ti regressarei, sempre que puder, com a mesma sensação de ter chegado a casa!

 For those who like decorating like I do and take care to make your home welcoming, beautiful and with style each detail is crucial and so it is essential it suits our own taste - which one wants to remain personal and untransferable. Naturally, cutlery is a small detail in the decor, but it has the characteristic of making both the table /the drawer prettier, or turning a meal into a fun relaxing , sophisticated, romantic and intimate moment or of truly enthusiasm for the guests. As it comes to parts that make up the decoration of a table, I like  visibly beautiful cuttlery, with well defined features, sophisticated, simple or colourful - depending on the occasion. Para quem gosta de decoração como eu e tem a preocupação de tornar a sua casa acolhedora, bonita e com pinta cada detalhe é essencial e imprescindível para que ela fique ao nosso gosto -  que se quer pessoal e intransmissível. Naturalmente que os talheres são um pequeno pormenor na decoração, mas têm a particularidade quer de tornar a mesa/ gaveta mais bonita, quer a de transformar a refeição num momento divertido, sofisticado, romântico e íntimo ou verdadeiramente entusiástico para os convidados. Como se trata de peças que compõe a decoração de uma mesa, gosto de talheres visivelmente bonitos, com traços bem definidos, sofisticados, simples ou coloridos - dependendo da ocasião. O cuidado na escolha dos talheres enquanto peças decorativas, para além do seu caráter funcional e prático, revela que ambicionamos não só caprichar nas horas das refeições, mas também mostra que a pessoa quer ser o melhor anfitrião possível!
