When I was little I was a very creative child, at least from what I can recall I always loved drawing and colouring -it actually still calms me down nowadays, but I came from a parents' generation [my parents are now over 80 years old] where they weren´t necessarily encouraging of  creating art, let alone looking for ways to display it - they probably killed the artist inside me!:) Fortunately there are many and varied ways to make a good use of your kids' best masterpieces in an art display system to showcase their budding talent and consequently stimulate their creative flame, sharpen their innate talent and also to give your own home a touch of originality.

We usually don't go out on Valentine's day; it's time for a homemade delicious dish [and it's always fun working together on it], some decadent dessert afterwards and call it a night watching a great movie cuddled on the couch. Is anyone else currently itching for a dose of great outdoors? This winter has been so long and dreary that I kind of entered in a state of lethargy and confinement about going out on week days what makes me realize I really have to make extra time to connect with the people I love rather than just over the phone. This cold and wet February has me suddenly wishing for a pair of red Hunter boots, a colour that feels fresh and bold and I will try to find them this weekend. The warm glow of my house filled with scented candlelights and beautiful flowers feels like a balm, at the end of the day, when there's quiet and silence enough for me to read a book . I have no attachment to winter whatsoever, a season I don't like at all. For me it translates into constant humidity, permanent grey skies, unpleasant and annoying rain, harsh winds, freezing early mornings/ nights and I really don't funtion properly up until the first steady rays of sunshine spread announcing a most wanted Spring. I'm glad January it's a wrap by now - it always seems such a long month to endure, mainly because it's coming back to face daily life's hard facts after all the entertainment of the past festivities. Gold Piggy Bank

Top designer Harry Allen's gold piggy bank has been fascinating me ever since I discovered it in some fine, stylish, super polished home décors about two years ago while browsing online and if it wasn't for its rather unfriendly price tag it would have been mine by now. This super modern take on a timeless classic [who doesn't recall having a ceramics pig bank in childhood?] adds just the perfect  design accent to your lovely house, works out as a wonderful vignette and the simple idea that it is an item that could be passed down through a family is rather appealing and reinforces my wish to own it some day...it's an excuse as good as any other, isn´t it?
